Accidental purchase — what to do

If you were charged for a subscription you didn't intend to start, or a trial converted to paid unexpectedly, here's how to request a refund through Apple or Linearity.

If you were charged for a subscription you didn't intend to start, or a free trial converted to paid without you realising, here's what to do.

App Store purchases

Refunds for App Store purchases are handled entirely by Apple. We do not have access to App Store transactions.

To request a refund:

  1. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com
  2. Sign in with the Apple ID used for the purchase
  3. Find the charge and select Request a Refund
  4. Choose a reason (for example: "I didn't intend to buy this")
  5. Submit — Apple typically responds within a few days

Important: Apple requires refund requests within 14 days of the charge date.

Stripe (web) purchases

If your subscription was purchased on our website, contact us at [email protected] within 14 days of the charge.

Please include:

  • Your invoice number, or the email address on the receipt
  • A short note explaining the purchase was accidental

We'll review and process the refund if it's within the refund window.

Trial converted to paid

If a free trial converted to a paid subscription and you didn't intend to continue, the same steps apply. Contact Apple or us depending on where the trial was started. Acting within 14 days of the first charge gives you the best outcome.
